“Cheap flights from London to Munich, a few quick beers in the Hoffbrau Haus followed by very pleasant train ride from Munich to Oberstdorf and then on to the village, where we were meet by our very charming hostess, who spoke fluent English and gave us a quick run through of the facilities as well as local tips for transport and a free bus pass!
The view from the rear was spectacular, and quite a shock to us in the morning as we arrived in darkness. Mountains so huge they looked close until you noticed the tiny lorries and house on them and realised they where enormous and on the other side of the valley!
Mittelberg was idyllic with chocolate box houses churches bar and restaurants stretched out along a winding valley with woods mountains and streams to either side.
Best of all were the mountain top ski lodges, which seemed to be everywhere, all breath-taking views, great food & drinks and a party end-of-season atmosphere. And HOT, and SUNNY, and with SNOW - just amazing.
Highly recommended - can't wait to go back....”

“Gute Lage im Kleinwalsertal. Ruhig, aber mit allem, was wir brauchten. Hier würden wir jederzeit wieder Urlaub machen!”

“Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in der Nähe vorhanden. Die nächste Bergbahn (Walmendinger Horn) ist nicht weit entfernt. Der Walserbus ermöglichte Urlaub vom Auto. Wer einen ruhigen Urlaub verbringen will, ist in Mittelberg gut aufgehoben. Gastronomie ist sehr zahlreich vorhanden. Bei den Wanderungen trifft man immer wieder auf Jausenstationen, Almen und Berghütten. Auf Grund der hervorragenden Qualität der Speisen braucht man auf Wanderungen eigentlich nur Getränke und eine Kleinigkeit zum Essen mitzunehmen. Von den Bergbauern wird hervorragender Bergkäse hergestellt.”
