Persberg was once the most important iron ore field in Värmland. In the Högbergsfältet nature reserve, you can enjoy the view from Högberget over the open farmland and Lake Yngen and experience the 17th century Tilas Stoll mining shaft. The shaft is a testimony to the old mining techniques and takes you on a journey into the past. Travel to the former spa town of Filipstad and experience the silver mine in Hornkullen. We also recommend a walk through Hällefors and its town park, Krokbornsparken, which dates back to 1796 and is said to be the oldest in Sweden. Also visit the old silver mines north of the town, Långbans Gruvby, the Knäckebrot Museum and the Hammarmossen and Åbengtshöjden nature reserves.
